  • In the print dialog choose “Actual size” or 100 % — not “Fit to page”. Otherwise the margins drift.
  • The emergency card lasts longer on slightly heavier paper (65 lb cover) — but plain paper works too.

For teachers, counselors and after-school programs

Yes, you may copy these.

In a group the tools work exactly the way they do at home — with one decisive difference: everybody does the Rocket Launch. Not one child in front of the others, but the whole group before starting. A child who counts the countdown together with twenty others never becomes the special case.

The Storm Check replaces the talking-to — “Where did you feel it?” works without blame and without an audience. And the Docking Card replaces the forced apology: one question instead of a sentence nobody means.

Permission to copy. The logbook weeks, the emergency card and the compass poster may be reproduced in any quantity for your own group or classroom — free of charge and without asking. Not permitted: resale, inclusion in paid material, or distribution outside your own school or organization.

Book 2

LUMI and the Quiet Rocket

When feelings go silent

Book 1 was for the children whose energy goes outward. Book 2 is for the others — the ones where everything goes inward, and who therefore get overlooked.

Want to know when it comes out? Leave your email address. You will get exactly one message, on the day it is published — and nothing else. No weekly newsletter, no advertising, and your address is never passed on.

Send a message

A short email is enough — your address is used for that one notification and deleted afterwards.

And one request, quite apart from all that.

If Lumi changed something in your house — pass it on. An honest review helps the next parent searching at eleven at night who does not know what to type. Criticism helps just as much. It makes Book 2 better.

About the author

Michael Swoboda lives with his family near Vienna, Austria. He has five children — and therefore five very different brains, all of which start at different speeds.
